Will this new software work ? I wonder since the manager is extremely unstabile and you never answer on supportquestions. The system is a big joke since it due to all troubble makes it more complicated to transfer from camera to the mac than to do it manually with a card reader…

    • randhir says:

Lars, the desktop based Eye-Fi Center is designed to be more stable than Eye-Fi Manager and has more features. If you are running into issues, please contact us so we can help resolve them.

I just installed a card in a construction time laps camera. Can I keep using the old software or if I upgraded would I have to have the card out of the camera? I have to. Rent a lift at the cost of 300 dollars if I do.

    • randhir says:

Tim, you have the choice to continue using Eye-Fi Manager till October 31, 2010. You don’t need the card out of your camera to upgrade your software to Eye-Fi Center.

  3. Heather Cooper says:

Will I automatically be switched to this new thing? I have had eye-fi for 2 years and I’m perfectly happy with the way it works now. Also, if you are automatically switching, what is the cost to me?

    • randhir says:

Heather, you have the choice to continue using the existing Eye-Fi Manager up to October 31, 2010. There is no cost to switch to Eye-Fi Center.

  4. Dave Wile says:

So how do I download my new Eye-Fi Center? I assume I get that for free, since I own 4 Eye-Fi cards!

    Thanks.

    Dave

I dont see where they tell you how to install and do an upgrade from the manager to the center. dont know if you have to start all over or what. I would think that would be the first thing to show a customer. I would appreciate if you could tell me how to do this or refer me to where it shows how.

Where and how do we get the eye-fi center?

  8. very good tutorials. Thank you!

  9. MrGutts says:

So is this a mac update only or for everyone? Also can we just uninstall the old stuff and how is the firmware updates handled in this new build of software?

    • randhir says:

MrGutts, this update is for everyone. When you install Eye-Fi Center, it will automatically uninstall the older software. Firmware updates for your Eye-Fi Card are handled from within the new Eye-Fi Center.

Will the eyefi centre not work with Mac 10.4?

  11. Dawn Martin says:

I am planning on buying my first Eye-Fi card. Do the cards currently in stores contain the new Eye-Fi Center or will I have to download to get it?

  12. LC says:

Hello – will all of my current photos transfer to the new Center when I do this update? thank you.

Ever since Center came out MY Helper crashes ALL THE TIME – yes I have uninstalled and installed many times. I have Vista would that be the problem? My EYE FI was Wonderful up until this…I am begging for a fix.

  14. Ted says:

Does the new software support a NAS? I use one to store all of my photos, but it only works when mapped through one of the computers, which must be online.

    Thanks

  15. Didier says:

    Hi,

I tried to install the new Eye-Fi Center application, but got an error at the end of the installation process.
Since ‘upgrading’ I can’t use Eye-Fi anymore as the app has been removed from my HD by the installation.

    Can you please help?
    Thanks.

    (Mac OS X 10.6.4)

Is Eye-Fi Center usable on multiple computers? I go back and forth between a work PC and a home PC quite frequently.

    • randhir says:

Kungpao, yes you can install Eye-Fi Center on multiple computers. The Eye-Fi Card will send photos to only one computer at a time.

  17. Joe says:

Oh great. Does this mean it will be natively written so we can get rid of that ridicilous joke Adobe has played on everyone with Adobe Air?
It would be nice with sw that actually recognizes windows has a task bar and scroll bar widgets, notfication areas etc.(try moving your mouse around in the scroll bar widget area while pressing the left mouse button, better not get outside the area!).
I really dont give a rats a** whether this can run on a MAC when it runs like crap on my windows pc.
Whatever it is I have it is already called eye fi center (3.1.9 it says) and it is a thorough dissappointment.
Please try and focus on performance and usability enhancement eye fi. I do not need more features, I want better features.

  18. Scott says:

When will the app be available for Linux? With your cutting edge technology, it seems appropriate. Eye-Fi is the main thing keeping me from dumping bloated Windows and moving completely to Linux.

  19. Ray Harris says:

Will the Card download wile your shooting if you are near a wi fi network? Will you need to turn the camra off to get it to download each time?

    • caroline says:

      Hi Ray,
The camera needs to be on for the card to download photos & videos via Wi-Fi. However the card does prioritize recording over transferring, which means there needs to be a pause in the shooting while the camera is on for the card to transfer.

  20. Laurie says:

My current card is linked to download to IPhoto–the tutorial implies that now the card will download to a separate Eye-Fi application. I would like to continue to have the card download to IPhoto–can i do this in the new application ?
