Here are all the details:
- Sign up for any Google paid storage plan that is $50/year or higher.
- You will receive your FREE Eye-Fi card within 2-4 weeks
- Your new 4GB SDHC Eye-Fi Card will upload photos and videos, automatically, from YOUR camera
- After the first year, you will still be able to upload to Picasa Web Albums and YouTube, for life, as long as you keep uploading and using those services
- Please make sure that you have an SDHC camera. If you’re not sure, take a look at the list of compatible cameras.
- I already have a Google storage plan. Can I upgrade to 200GB to take advantage of this promotion?
Unfortunately, at this time this promotion is only available for people who are new subscribers to Google paid storage. Users who upgrade to 200GB from a smaller plan will not be shipped an Eye-Fi card.
- What can I use my 200 GB of Google paid storage for?
Google paid storage acts as overflow across Picasa Web Albums and Gmail; when you reach the limit of your free storage, you start using your paid storage. Google paid storage offers an extra level of security, protection, and accessibility that you can’t get with an external drive.
- I ordered an Eye-Fi card, but it doesn’t work in my camera.
If you have an SD-compatible camera that doesn’t support SDHC cards (4GB cards or higher), you can contact Eye-Fi’s support AFTER you’ve received your 4GB card, and we will work with you to replace the card with a 2GB Eye-Fi Card. Note: 2GB Eye-Fi Cards DO NOT upload videos.
- What kind of internet connection do I need?
You need a Wi-Fi router or Wi-Fi connection to use the Eye-Fi card.
- Is there an annual Eye-Fi subscription fee?
No. There is no subscription fee for uploading to your computer, and the annual fee for uploading to the web and geotagging is covered for the first year, plus additional years if you upload to Picasa Web Albums or YouTube.
- Is the Google paid storage fee one-time or annual?
Google paid storage renews annually, but you can always downgrade to a smaller storage plan or choose not to renew.
- Will this work with my computer?
Eye-Fi cards work with both Mac and Windows, and Picasa Web Albums works on any web browser.
- I have Picasa on my computer, which is different than Picasa Web Albums. Will my pictures sync to Picasa on my computer?
You can configure your Eye-Fi card to upload to any location: to your computer, to the internet, or both. Once they’re uploaded to your computer, they’ll be automatically discovered and synced with Picasa.
- Will I have control over who my pictures are shared with when they’re posted online?
Of course. You choose which album in Picasa Web Albums to upload your pictures to – uploaded photos will have the same sharing properties as that album. When new photos are added, those you shared the album with will receive a digest email notifying them of the new photos.
- I live outside the US or Canada. Can I participate in this promotion?
Unfortunately, the offer is available only to people with shipping addresses in the US and Canada.
- Will the Eye-Fi card work in my camera?
The card should work in all SDHC compatible cameras. Check if your camera is compatible.
