Earlier this year, we announced Direct Mode, and its instant uploading capabilities. Today, Eye-Fi is announcing its availability to all Eye-Fi X2 card holders, as a free upgrade.

Direct Mode, in conjunction with an Eye-Fi app for iOS and Android, enables the Eye-Fi X2 cards to create their own network and send photos and videos directly from the camera to the Eye-Fi app on the user’s iPhone, iPad or Android device.
