reviews
- An impressive new product
- Zack Stern,
- Does Eye-Fi Geo wirelessly upload videos?
No. Only the Eye-Fi Share Video, Eye-Fi Explore Video and Eye-Fi Pro X2 cards do. The Eye-Fi Geo card stores all photos and video formats, just like your existing SD memory card. The Eye-Fi Geo only uploads JPEG photos wirelessly.
- Do you need to be in a HotSpot for photos to be geotagged?
No. Geotagging happens whenever you are in range of any wireless network, open or closed, private or public.
- How is geotagging provided?
Geotagging is provided through Wi-Fi Positioning System (WPS), which is different from Global Positioning System (GPS). Read about how WPS works »
- Can I upload only certain photos, or do I have to upload everything?
That’s up to you! Every Eye-Fi Geo card has a Selective Transfer Option, which, once enabled, lets you use the “lock” or “protect” key on your camera to pick which photos are uploaded. Once you’ve made your selection, only the protected videos and JPEG photos will upload from your camera.
- How do I know if the Eye-Fi Geo card works with my camera?
The Eye-Fi Geo card is compatible with thousands of SD and SDHC cameras. You’ll need your camera make and model to check if it’s compatible.
- Can I buy Eye-Fi cards outside of the US and Canada?
